If you install Minecraft on pure Kali Linux, then we need to add repositories to the system. This will allow you to install all the necessary programs from the official repositories. If you did this before, then skip this part.
Open this file /etc/apt/sources.list:
sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list
Next, insert this command there:
deb http://http.kali.org/kali kali-rolling main non-free contrib
Updating the system:
sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade
Installing Minecraft on Kali Linux
I think many people know that to run Minecraft, you need Java. And the first thing we do is install Java on Kali Linux. It is very easy to do. Just execute this command in the terminal:
sudo apt-get install openjdk-8-jdk
If Java was successfully installed, you can now start Minecraft. You can download (buy) Minecraft on the official website, or just download TLauncher (google it). Minecraft for Linux is a simple jar file that can be launched with a double click.
But in order to make it possible to launch minecraft.jar with a double click, you need to go to the file properties, and in the permission tab, click on the checkmark "Allow this file to run as a program".
If this does not work, just run this file through the terminal:
Done. We launched Minecraft. Cool, isn't it?
